A landing page is designed to present a single product or service in a clear, engaging way and is typically used as part of a marketing campaign. You can also read our expert guide on the Rackhost Knowledge Base, which explains what makes a good landing page. Here, we’ll show you step by step how easy it is to create one using a WordPress plugin.
To get started, we recommend our WordPress hosting plans, which allow you to install the popular content management system in just a few minutes.
Installing SeedProd
Once that’s done, you can download SeedProd. This is a paid WordPress plugin that offers a comprehensive range of features. SeedProd also has a free version if you’re just experimenting with landing pages. Although it has fewer features, it can be enough to get you started.
There are also completely free alternatives, but since landing pages are typically created for marketing campaigns, it’s reasonable to invest in a dedicated solution. The best landing pages are often created using paid plugins, and SeedProd is one of the most popular options.
After installing the plugin, click Create a New Landing Page to get started. First, a box will appear where you can enter the name and URL of your landing page. The SeedProd Builder will then load, giving you access to the editing interface.
Using the editing interface
The basic settings are displayed on the left, where you can choose fonts and colours, format paragraphs, add buttons, and embed photos and videos, among many other options. It works much like a standard website builder. On the right, you can see the landing page itself and customise its individual elements.
One of the first things worth setting is the background colour. Click Background Color to choose a colour that fits your design, as this can have a major impact on the overall look and feel of the landing page.
The Sections menu lets you divide the landing page into one or more columns. By default, it uses a single column, which is also the recommended option for keeping the page fast and mobile-friendly.
Under Add Blocks, you’ll find a range of elements that can be added to the landing page one after another. These include text, buttons, images, polls, signup forms, countdown timers, icons, chatbots, pricing tables, galleries and embeds, among many others.
As a landing page consists of a single page, anchor links are particularly useful for directing visitors to different sections. You can access this feature under the Advanced settings by selecting Anchor. You can use drag and drop to place the anchor wherever you want, then specify which element — or Block — it should link to.
Since the goal of a landing page is often to encourage visitors to sign up for a newsletter or provide their details for another purpose, the Contact Form option is also worth highlighting. This feature allows you to collect information such as names and email addresses, helping you build your mailing list and contact visitors directly.
