What is WordPress Hosting?
Our WordPress hosting plans are specifically designed for customers who do not want to dive into web development, but just want to create a simple and quick WordPress-based website. Once the domain is connected, the WordPress Content Manager is automatically installed, allowing clients to start editing their website through the admin interface. For security reasons, these automated hosting plans don’t include all the options available with traditional or cPanel hosting (such as adding subdomains, SSH access, full database management, cron jobs and aliases).
Connection Process
Once you have chosen the WordPress hosting plan that fits your needs, you can connect it to your desired domain by following these steps:
- The chosen hosting plan will be available after payment.
- Once the hosting is active, log in to your Rackhost account and click on the Settings button in the Web Hostings menu.
- From here, you can add your domain to your WordPress hosting in the Domain tab by clicking on Add Domain
- Enter the details needed to log in to WordPress later: admin username, password, and a valid email address. Make sure the email address is one you have access to, as it will be used for notifications about your WordPress site and for resetting your password if necessary.
Once these steps are completed, just wait for the installation to finish.
You do not need to login to your Rackhost account to access the WordPress admin interface afterward. Instead, you can login directly at www.givendomain.uk/wp-login.php, which will also appear in your Rackhost account under the WP Admin column after installation.
For technical reasons, only domains registered with Rackhost can be added to your WordPress hosting. Select the domain you wish to add from the drop-down menu. This means the domain must be connected to the same account that purchased the hosting.
If your domain is managed by another registrar, we recommend transferring it to Rackhost. Similarly, adding a subdomain is not possible. If you need to use a subdomain, we suggest using our traditional hosting services, where you can manually install a content manager.
