Internet Protocol Number
More commonly known as an IP address, this identifier is used to directly determine a specific user’s computer and its location on a network. It also indicates both the host and the network being used. An IP address consists of four numbers between 0 and 255, separated by dots.

A URL consists of two main parts: the first refers to the protocol being used, while the second identifies the domain name.
